We bought Ziggy as a puppy from Lucky G Ranch in Luck, WI. They have the best Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGDs)! Their puppies are raised with animals and kids and their breeding stock is carefully screened for physical and behavioral problems. I can't say enough good things about them!
Ziggy was one of the most well behaved puppies I have ever seen. We took him everywhere with us to socialize him, and people always commented on how sweet and calm he was. We also got a lot of comments on his size, nobody could believe he was still a baby! Ziggy loves people but true to his breed he is suspicious of strangers. He is never aggressive but his bark and size are intimidating.
Zena is a new addition to our family, she is a rescue from Minnesota that we acquired through Lucky G also. Zena was 2 when she joined our herd, and we don't know much about her back ground, but she wasn't as well socialized as Zig. Zena is a true LGD, she prefers to spend her time with her flock. She is more suspicious of strangers and more timid. It takes her a bit longer to warm up to new people. She is very sweet and has a good attitude. Zena knows her job, she's good at it, and she loves doing it (Most people can't say that!).
